The monthly medal (or simply medal competition) is played at every golf club regularly throughout the year, and may consist of both Saturday morning, and or, the afternoon for male golfers and during mid-week for female golfers.
Most men.s competitions follow the same basic format: Sign-up sheets are on the notice boards in the foyer. You can put your name down with a partner(s) or on your own. It.s very unlikely that you.ll be left on your own as the Professional will sort things out near the time of the competition.
Rules:
1/. All golfers are handicapped according to their course rating (which is rated according to the same set criteria), such that their handicap is relevant and competitive against players from other clubs, namely their nett score against the course rating, such that every player's score can be compared against players from other clubs.
2/. Participants in their monthly medal competition need to play out every hole in order to submit their score at their club for possible prize consideration.
3/. Their score is cross-checked by their playing partner who needs to counter-sign the scorecard
